YOUNG/NEW/DIFFERENT CDA Projects is seeking young talent for the  exhibition ‘Genç/Yeni/Farklı’ (Young/New/Different) which will take place in June 2010 with the aim of supporting and showcasing the new representatives of Turkish contemporary art. The exhibition is open to all disciplines. In order to apply, the applicants should send a portfolio CD consisting of a resume, 10 images of recent work and a list of images complete with name, medium and size of the work to İstiklal Caddesi Mısır Apt. No 163 Kat 3 D. 10 Beyoğlu İstanbul 34340 until March 15, 2010. CDs should be clearly labeled with the applicant’s name and contact information. Applications that don’t meet the application criteria will not be taken into consideration. Application folders will be kept in the CDA Projects archives and will not be released. Applicants must be no more than 35 years old as of January 1, 2010. The artist selection will be made by juror Tomur Atagök. Today we're introducing some inspiring photographs which have a truly summer holiday vibe. Ece is a 1982 born Istanbulite. She has been busy with painting, drawing, weaving and etching having studied at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Art. She has 4 years of animation studio experience as an art director and has been involved with Gallery Twenty Four in Berlin, Contemporary Art Istanbul and HP Hype Gallery in Frankfurt. Her short animation films include Love Styles for Restfest Turkey and Little Dreams for Mtv and she has also contributed to Rojo Magazine, the cinema magazine Altyazı and Bant magazine. Sevil was born in 1982 in Istanbul. After 4 years of Art education at the Istanbul Anadolu School of Fine Arts, she furthered her studies at Mimar Sinan University doing Fine Art in the Zekai Ormancı studio between the years of 2000 and 2005. During these years she was into Photography and Video and in 2007 she began a Masters course at the Marmara University of Fine Arts in the Photography department. She's still working on a thesis discussing the relationship between Photography and Fine Art. You can see her photographs here. For the past 2 years, Sevil has been giving Illustration and Painting lessons at Atölye Onbir with highschool and university friend Erkin Gören. This year together they opened the exhibition space Mtaär in Moda, referring to it as a non-profit open art space. In terms of exhibitions, one of her pieces on canvas was shown at the "Flight Fear / Uçuş Korkusu" exhibition at Daralan. At a young age, Yiğit Karagöz was influenced greatly by his elder brothers' comic books and skateboarding graphics, leading him later to become interested in music and creativity, ending up in him now producing graphic design and illustration work. His style strongly includes using large amounts of colour and playful imagery. Other than this he also uses images and ideas from everyday life. To this day his illustrations have been featured in the magazines Bant and Trendsetter. Yiğit has also taken part in various graphic design, motion graphics and art installation projects. Still a graphic design student at the Anadolu University, Yiğit also benefits from his studies at the Belgium Hogeschool in Gent. For those of you in Belgium, you can see his work in the Membership exhibition at the Espace Ladda Gallery in Gent and also the 2009 Printed Art Biennali in Saint Niklaas. Mtaär aims to be an alternative region in Istanbul for creative production and events and is situated in Kadıköy/Moda as opposed to areas more associated with the art scene such as Beyoğlu and Karaköy. It's an open exhibition space where Mtaär shows their own work as well as other artists' projects. These exhibitions and events are also planned to spread over to the European side of Istanbul and take place in venues which are currently in close contact with Mtaär, making it possible to host large events on both sides of the Bosphorus. These events could even be organised in the form of mini festivals in the city. Yağmur Kızılok will be opening an exhibition next Tuesday of photographs he has taken since 2006 of moments on bicycles in the street around Europe. We've heard that his photographs capture and protect humanity within Yağmur's own aesthetic composition. The series titled I want to ride my bicycle will be shown between the 5th and 20th of May at Play Studio. Yağmur Kızılok was born in 1978 in Istanbul and at the age of 15 went to Florence which was when his photography career began. Kızılok, who lives and works in Istanbul, graduated from the Italian Highschool in Istanbul and following this went on to study Visual Communication and Design at Istanbul Bilgi University. Between the years of 2004 and 2008 he worked for the PPR Turkish agency and his photographs have also been featured in magazines such as Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, All and 2de1. In the past Yağmur has also contributed to London Fashion Week, he has received the Sisley Europe Young Talent award and opened his first solo exhibition at the Marmara Hotel Bodrum and Istanbul in 2006.
