Emircan was born in Istanbul where he still lives today. He's now 19 years old and is studying City and Region Planning at Mimar Sinan University. Since the age of 7 he's been taking photographs, later doing this more professionally at the age of 17. He likes integrating people and places in his photographs. Aside from photography he also does spatial installation as a way of expressing himself in 3D. So where are you from exactly and how did you end up in Istanbul? What languages do you speak? I was born in Ventspils, Latvia. When my mother got married to a Turkish man we moved to Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina because of his job. After spending a couple years abroad we finally ended up in Turkey. Traveling so much at a young age enabled me to learn the native languages. Right now I can speak Russian (which is my mother tongue), Turkish, English, Azerbaijani, Bosnian, German (which I've learned at school). I also have a basic knowledge of Latin, which I've also learned from school. You just finished high school, what are your near future plans? My biggest plan right now is moving to England and applying for Fashion Design at Central Saint Martin's but this will have to wait because I still have some unfinished business in Istanbul. If you had to explain your work to a stranger, how would you do it? Basically I use original magazine pages and glamour images, which visually inspire me, either to cut them in pieces and use them in collages on other magazine pages or i just use ink or paint and write or draw ...

She's only been a fashion photographer for three years but the shots she takes decorate the pages of magazines like Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and All. Here's some more inspiration for all of you out there! Karl Grandin was born in Sweden on Christmas Day 1976. After working as the art director for the influential Swedish music magazine Pop for two years he joined forces with a fellow artist in Stockholm and founded the graphic design unit Vår. Grandin studied at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam between 2004 and 2006. In 2004 he started the revolutionary clothing label Cheap Monday together with some friends and were responsible for the brand's complete graphic expression for four years. Today we present to you Ahmet's 2009/2010 Autumn/Winter shoe collection. Made entirely from natural materials, the collection was inspired by the film "Mulholland Drive" by David Lynch. In the meantime we leave you with what Ahmet himself has to say about the collection: "I was trying to appreciate the movie “Mulholland Drive", apart from its being visually satisfying and its screen and sound effects pulling the watcher into a stream, I found that the two main characters of the film had affected me. The gorgeous Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring have become the inspiration for my 2010 winter collection in my sketchbook, that I could not put down for a second, as I watched. For those who have never seen David Lynch’s movie, the story is about two beautiful women. The first, Rita, seeks asylum in a house after losing her memory in a car crash and the second, Betty, who is seeking stardom.
