Emircan was born in Istanbul where he still lives today. He's now 19 years old and is studying City and Region Planning at Mimar Sinan University. Since the age of 7 he's been taking photographs, later doing this more professionally at the age of 17. He likes integrating people and places in his photographs. Aside from photography he also does spatial installation as a way of expressing himself in 3D. Mete was born in 1983 in Istanbul and has a degree in Graphic Design from Yeditepe University and an MA degree in Visual Communication Design. His thesis focussed on cross-modal usage of Audio-Visual Synchronization, after which he joined the Master of Arts program at West Virginia University and took part in the design of the visual organisation for the Art.i.licious seminar. Aside designs for local companies, his work has also been published in various magazines and websites abroad, and his designs are now being sold as posters and t-shirts. He currently combines Photo Manipulation with vectorial and traditional techniques in his work. Aside from design he is working on various live visual performances and music productions. His first solo exhibition took place in Istanbul in 2009. Cengiz Bodur was born in Germany and raised in Turkey, where he completed a degree in Fine Arts. Although his creative background is traditional art, he has been creating digital art works for six years. He spends a large amount of time creating vector illustrations, and always likes to try out different ways to express his ideas with digital art. His work is mainly influenced by nature - He likes illustrating portraits, landscapes and flowers. Ece was born in 1988 in Istanbul. At the end of high school she had an urge to illustrate, purely as a result of boredom at the time. She then applied to study Photography and Video and Yıldız Technical University, and as she began taking photographs, she could visualise the characters she illustrated on streets and alleyways, this leading to several conceptual shoots for her photo-illustrations. She took part in several group exhibitions as well as one-day exhibitions at Play Studio and Sacred Ink Tattoo. Can was born in 1990 in Adana and currently lives in Istanbul. He's studying Industrial Product Design at Mimar Sinan University. In 2009 he joined the summer program in the Photography department at the University of Brighton in the UK. He's got a thing for urban aesthetics and anonymous sculptures (especially subconciously produced compositions). Hüseyin was born in Berlin, is from Samsun/Bafra and is currently 23 years old. He went to school and grew up in Berlin, and then studied 3 years of Architecture. However, realising that Architecture wasn't for him, he went down the career path of being a Graphic Designer, having been spending a great deal of time in his room on Photoshop. 3 years later he took his career in his hands and started work in the firm which he ended up learning from. He works in a large software producing company, his main job being a packaging designer. Other than that, he does practically anything you can think of related to graphics. He also does some 3D work which he really enjoys. As for taking photographs - he likes doing that in his spare time, even though he had no interest for this a couple of years ago. It just suddenly came to him and now it's something he loves doing. So that's how the photos you see here came to life. For Hüseyin, these photos are valuable - his aim is to show people things that are important to him, through his own eyes and through his own perspective. ...

What would happen if a young boy was to come face to face with an age old dragon? For the boy busy shaping his life on the remanence of war economy the answer wasn't clear either. One day that dragon said to the boy: "To be one step ahead, look at things from one step behind". Ever since that day, the boy decided to grow up; always from one step behind, from one step away - to see more, to see things from a larger perspective. That boy Mert, having kept his eyes on his surroundings whilst living within the triangle of Denmark, Adana  and Istanbul, is now sharing the photographs he has taken over the past 3 years between various magazines, bands and personal projects. INTERVIEW BY: ÇAĞIN TÜRKER Your first camera and the first photograph you took: Canon EOS 1000F. A photo that I had taken in Beylerbeyi Palace when I was 10. Your favourite food? Stuffed vine leaves with meat. The advantages of being in Spain/Europe? I don’t have commercial concerns when I’m doing my job and Spanish people are more intimate than people in Turkey. The disadvantages? We should think of Mediterranean countries separately from Northern Europe. Spain doesn’t have the moral coldness that other European countries have, although the mentality that has changed through overconsumption can be exhausting from time to time. What do you miss most? The mixed atmosphere created by the different cultures and of course my family. What do you get inspiration from? As everyone says; from everything. Crowds on the streets, all kinds of music and of course the dialogues in my social life. Additionally I'm a regular follower of blogs and some mags and each piece of paper that has writing on it is very important for me. When I'm late for an appointment it's because...
