POSTED BY : BANANÉ

Yiğit is an Interior Design graduate from Bilkent and now lives in New York where he is currently studying a masters in Architecture, his actual profession, at the New York Parsons School of Design. Today we’re featuring a mixed selection of photographs which Yiğit has taken of typical daily life in both Istanbul and New York.  They’re inspirational images which succeed in capturing these 2 cities through the eye of a true designer…

Lisansını Bilkent İç Mimarlık’da tamamlayan Yiğit, şu an New York’da yaşıyor. Asıl mesleği Mimarlık ve New York Parsons School of Design’da aynı alanda yüksek lisans yapıyor. Günlük hayatta hem İstanbul hem New York’da çekmiş olduğu fotoğrafların bazılarını sunuyoruz bugün. Bu 2 şehiri tamamen tasarımcı gözüyle yakalayan bu kareler son derece ilham verici…

Yigit Kale… Yes! I saw his work in New York. A true talent - someone should make sure and buy some of his work now while he’s still under the radar because word is already spreading about him in New York… the goods are going up in price!!

I think these are just a couple of ordinary shots. If this was the purpose, yeah it’s well done.

In my opinion he seems to know about contrasts and composition. And he has the ability to play with these balances. Unfortunately this doesn’t mean so much to me until I sense a different vision in the artwork.

They also look quite momentary, though they don’t reflect a shiny freshness or the moment.

Personally, in photography I like to see a relationship between the subject and the camera. It seems to me Yiğit just goes away, goes upstairs or hides behind a bush while he’s taking photos. He doesn’t like to interact with figures in personal. Does he have to, I guess no. Art is free, has no responsibilities.
