Özlem studied at the Graphic Design Department of Bilkent University with a full talent scholarship and also spent a year studying sculpture at Hacettepe University. She then did her MA in Graphic Design at Hacettepe University, where her thesis project was titled Techno-Graphic Experimentations on Visual Language of Electronic Music. She has 2 years of work experience as Research Assistant during her MA, and also has 3 years of Art Direction experience at Lab 34 in Istanbul. So far her freeiance work has included collaborations with Swatch, Cecille Records, Gourmet Records, Levi’s, Starbucks and Sony BMG. Having taken part in 9 joint exhibitions, her first solo exhibition, After The After-Hours took place in September 2008 at PlayStudio Istanbul.

The magical intricacy yet simplicity of her illustrations are influenced by world culture, sometimes from that of the Ottomans or the Far East, yet they can sometimes even suggest a futuristic space age. She’s also got a new project up and running - be sure to check it out - maddeck.com.

Özlem Bilkent Üniversitesi’nde tam burslu okuduğu Grafik Tasarım Bölümünden mezun olduktan sonra Hacettepe Üniversitesi’nde bir senelik heykel eğitimi aldı. Elektronik Müziğin Görsel Dili Üzerindeki Techno-Grafik Deneyler isimli hazırladığı tez projesi ile sonradan Hacettepe Üniversitesi’nde yüksek lisansını tamamladı. Bu sırada 2 sene araştırma asistanlığı yaptı ve sonradan 3 sene boyunca Istanbul’daki Lab 34′de çalıştı. Bu güne kadar serbest tasarımcı olarak beraber çalıştığı firmaların bazıları Swatch, Cecille Records, Gourmet Records, Levi’s, Starbucks ve Sony BMG. 9 karma sergide yer alıp ilk kişisel sergisi Eylül 2008′de İstanbul’daki PlayStudio’da yer aldı.

İşlerindeki sihirsel karışıklık ve saflık, bazen Osmanlı veya uzak doğu gibi dünya kültürlerinden ilham alıyor, ancak bazen futurist uzay çağı bile anımsatıyorlar. Yeni projesi de çıktı - mutlaka göz atın - maddeck.com.
