İrem was born in just 1989 and is now studying Textiles at the Istanbul Technical University. For 6 months she worked on painting at Sevil Tunaboylu and Erkin Gören’s studio and is still painting today. She tells us that When painting she doesn’t care about something looking real, and as opposed to dwelling on the effect of things from the outside world on her, she’s more interested in the effect she has on these occurances herself. This doesn’t mean that she doesn’t give a damn about the outside world, she just lives in a way that is detached from the outside world, drawing distorted legs, wonky heads, she creates an irregular community because that’s just what she enjoys…

İrem 1989 yılında doğdu ve şu  anda İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Tekstil bölümünde okuyor. 6 ay kadar Sevil Tunaboylu ve Erkin Gören’in serbest resim atölyesinde resim çalıştı ve hala çalışmalarına devam etmekte. Resim yaparken gerçekçi görüşü umursamadığını söylüyor, daha çok dış dünyada olan şeylerin üzerindeki etkisini değilde, onun o olaylar üzerindeki görüşlerinin üzerinde duruyormuş. Bu demek değildirki dış dünyayı umursamıyor, dış dünyadan bağımsız yaşıyor, mesela çarpık bacaklar, yamuk kafalar düzensiz bir topluluk toplum çiziyor çünkü bundan hoşlanıyor.
