Dilek was born in Eskişehir in 1987. She has been into crafts, drawing and photography since she was a kid. Her teachers at school had a great influence on her artistic development, sending her art secretly to various competitions, some of which she even won. Dilek eventually decided to go to a Fine Art College.  Whilst juggling drawings, graphics and oil paints she started experimenting with photography and started to prefer it from anything else. Her dad played a major role in this decision, being a photographer himself.  Dilek used to steal his camera and organise photoshoots with friends and then the cafe she liked hanging out in while she was studying offered her the chance to exhibit her work. As soon as she finished High School she got into the Photography and Video department at Bilgi University with a full scholarship and in exchange for this scholarship she started teaching. This extremely tiring period of her life has been extremely constructive… All the courses increased her interest in animation and video art too, and some of the video animations she designed have been featured in various festivals. She designs graphics, does videos and photography as freelance work. She has been recently working as photographer and graphic designer on the set of the short movie ‘Forgetmenot’. She’s in her last year. We all wonder what will happen once her university course is over…

1987 yılında Eskişehirde doğdu. Küçüklükten beri elişi, çizim ve fotoğrafa ilgisi vardı. Okuldaki resim öğretmenlerinin çok fazla katkısı oldu kendini keşfetmesinde. Habersizce yoladıkları resim çalışmalarımdan ufak tefek  ödüller kazandı. Böylece Dilek Güzel Sanatlar Lisesine girmeye karar verdi.  Çizim, grafik, yağlıboya falan filan derken fotoğraf çekmek daha çok hoşuna gitmeye başladı. Bu konuda uzaktanda olsa fotoğrafçı olan babasının büyük bir rolü vardı. Fotoğraf makinesini kaçırıp arkadaşlarının fotoğraflarını çekmeye başlamıştı. Lisede en çok takıldığı kafede bu işleri sergileme fırsatı yakaladı. Liseyi bitirir bitirmez Bilgi Üniveristesi Fotoğraf ve Video Bölümüne burslu kabul edildi. Bu burs karşılığında bölümde çalışmaya başladı. Çok zor ve yorucu bir dönem olmasının yanında ona çok şey katmış… Aldığı çeşitli vcd, pov dersleriyle beraber animasyon ve videoya ilgi duymaya başladı. Yaptığı video ve animasyonlar çeşitli festivallerde gösterildi. Tasarım, fotoğraf ve video işleri yapıyor freelance olarak. Son dönemde ‘Forgertmenot’ kısa filminin Grafik tasarım ve Still Fotoğrafçısı olarak görev aldı. Şu an son sınıfta. Okul bitince  neler olacağını hepimiz merak ediyoruz…
